Magento Analytics Ecosystem
I took merits of the concepts we came up during the workshop and the requirements by product owner to come up with the new ecosystem. I combined report and dashboard to propose "Analytics Ecosystem" because the goal of these features is really to give users meaningful data that will help merchant run their online store.
How dashboard and reports works together
In the dashboard, merchant can get and an overview of KPIs (key performance indicator) for their store. The merchant can then dive deeper into the reports that is linked with that particular KPI.
How do we make data meaningful
1. We provide smart suggestions so that merchant can improve their stores.
2. User can have a personalized dashboard based on their roles. For example: an inventory manager will want to look at different metrics than a tech supprt.
3. We show metrics based on the context of user's current task. For example: if the user is in a Product Management Page, we will show the top 5 products, or items that are popular and running out soon.
Users who consume the data to make decisions in their day-to-day work. (i.e. sales manager, inventory manager, tech support, etc.)
Users who create dashbaords and reports for the Analytics Viewer.
